A three-burner gas grill is one of the most popular configurations on the market.
It usually offers enough space (even for a bigger family) which makes it possible to prepare really huge amounts of food in comfortable conditions.
A three-burner grill in most cases still maintains a relatively compact size that doesn’t take that much space in the backyard.
Some models offer plenty of interesting gadgets and features that can’t be found in the two-burner versions, for example.
A bigger grill offers more space, which plenty of manufacturers decided to take advantage of by creating richer versions with interesting gadgets – remember that such solutions cost more.
Here’s what I believe to be the best 3 burner gas grills for every occasion and budget:
The Best 3 Burner Gas Grills Reviewed
1. Best Overall - Weber Spirit II E-310
A simple yet very efficient and solidly built grill at the lowest possible price.
A great suggestion for everyone who is simply looking for a solid, universal grill at a reasonable price.
It will live up to the expectations of every beginner and someone with very huge experience alike.
Weber Spirit II E-310 comes with all the essentials for effective and convenient cooking.
I believe that it’s a universal grill because it offers enough space for a small family as well as a big one (424 square inches of the main area).
Three very strong burners make it possible to create heat zones for cooking different types of food at the same time. Their power and efficiency are great, Weber is famous for its great burners in gas grills.
In can reach the right temperature for cooking very fast.
The open construction is a discussion topic for many people, but to me it’s a matter of preferences. Personally, I prefer the closed construction, but this one is also okay, plus this kind of solution allows the grill’s price to be relatively low.
A very important thing is the quality of workmanship, and in this case Weber lived up to the task. The newer series of Spirit II is still among solidly built grills that will withstand a lot.
A very good argument in favor of it, especially in this price range, is whole 10 years of warranty.
There is no shortage of work space for cooking, hooks for tools or storage room.
They took care not only of quality and efficiency, but also of comfort.
Without a doubt, it’s a phenomenal grill available at a decent price. If I had been just starting my journey with grilling, I would have bought this exact grill to start with.
2. Best Upgrade Pick - Weber Genesis II E-335
A very high quality of workmanship, impressive closed construction style, functionality of additional burners, capacity and the power of main burners – all of that is very high level in Weber Genesis II E-335.
Sadly, it is a pretty expensive grill intended more for experienced people who know very well what they want.
One cannot deny, however, that this model is worth its price and as someone who loves cooking, I have one in my backyard.
It has a very large capacity for a three-burner grill, 513 square inches of the main area – that’s a lot even for a big family.
Of course we don’t have to worry about efficiency, the burner power was adequately adapted to such area. The way it looks in practice, three strong burners provide great efficiency.
It’s mostly such series that Weber owes such recognition among clients and the top spot in the gas grill category to, despite pretty high prices.
On top of great efficiency and large capacity, there are many more things to talk about here.
First and foremost, let’s take a look at the sear station, which makes it possible to easily achieve perfect sear marks on the food’s surface (I love that feature).
Another useful thing is the side burner, which allows to prepare some sauces, melt butter in a pot or simply heat something up.
Both additional burners increase the grill’s functionality significantly and provide some fun.
Another important thing is the quality of workmanship and the grill’s style, which catches attention pretty well.
The construction was well thought-out and made of high quality materials, which made the grill solid and durable. You can see the attention to minor details like lid finish, handle etc.
There’s a whole lot of work space for grilling and there is no shortage of storage space for tools under the grill.
The Genesis II series is a suggestion for demanding people and those who value quality, durability and functionality. A combination of all these aspects results in a grill that enables convenient and effective grilling.
3. Best Budget - Dyna-Glo Smart Space Living
My last suggestion is for those who want so save as much money as possible when buying a new grill.
I have to warn you though, the cheapest grills are not really durable and it’s not an investment for years.
Dyna-Glo Smart Space Living is a simple three-burner grill for those who don’t cook a lot or simply aren’t very demanding.
Under the lid you will find 390 square inches of cooking area, that’s a lot for this kind of money.
For that kind of money you can’t make a solid grill for years to come, so you have to be aware of the fact that it is only an investment for several seasons (a lot depends on how you take care of it).
The three burners may not be very strong, but on this kind of area they do pretty well. They can achieve high temperatures in a relatively short time, they also make it possible to create heat zones.
On top of that, you get everything you need for comfortable grilling here. There’s enough work space on the side shelves, storage room for accessories and tools under the grill, or wheels for better mobility.
As I’ve already mentioned, it is not a very durable grill, but I believe that in good hands it should withstand a lot. If you don’t cook that much and want to save some money, this grill should be enough for you.
If you expect high quality of workmanship and durability, however, I’m afraid I have to disappoint you, because for this kind of money it’s not possible.
What to Look for in a 3 Burner Gas Grill
Budget – I have to admit that the price differences can be very big depending on quality and equipment. Keep in mind that for a very functional grill you will have to pay a lot. The good news, however, is that you can buy a simple yet solidly built grill at a decent price.
Size – In theory, three-burner grills don’t differ that much, but in practice it is different. There are models that differ in capacity by as much as 25-30%, so you should pay attention to sizes. You cook more? Look for something bigger. Don’t have much space in the backyard or don’t cook a lot? Check out the biggest models.
Features – Some of the three-burner gas grills have much better equipment. It means that if you have a big enough budget, you can buy a grill with many interesting gadgets. Like Weber Genesis II E-335 for example, which on top of three main burners also comes with a sear burner and a side burner. These are very useful burners that sadly cost a lot, but are worth it if you cook a lot.
Durability and Warranty – You want your investment to last for many years? Then the first thing to do is increase your budget, then check out warranties so that you get an extra protection. Sadly, quality is expensive and if you want a solid grill then you have to pay more than usual for it.
