Are you planning to build a multifunctional and efficient outdoor kitchen?
Then it can’t go without a solid, efficient and functional built-in grill.
Speaking from experience, I know that a real outdoor kitchen should not only look great but above all be very efficient and durable.
Usually it is a very expensive investment that is expected to be durable for years to come.
To avoid disappointment, I will share with you my list of the best built-in grills that I have come across in the past or still own them and know what to expect of them.
Get ready for the price range being really large depending on your expectations.
The 3 Best Built in Grills Reviewed
1. Best Overall - Bull Outdoor Products 47628 Angus
A durable built-in grill that is solidly made of high quality materials (304 grade).
A solidly built and durable built in grill made of high quality materials (304 grade stainless steel).
The Bull Outdoor Angus built in grill was made for demanding people who value quality.
It guarantees great efficiency thanks to its four main burners and large capacity.
It has 810 square inches of the main cooking area, which in this configuration allows for comfortable cooking.
The four main burners guarantee a very good heat output (the manufacturer declares a lifetime warranty for the burners). On top of that, they make it possible to create several heat zones which at this kind of power and capacity of the grill is very effective.
When it comes to additional features, the things you get are a rotisserie burner (with a whole set) and an Infrared Back Burner, which can generate incredibly intense heat.
For better convenience and comfort, it has an internal lighting upon opening the lid.
The good news from the Bull Outdoor brand is that the same grill is available in many different sizes and configurations. The quality of workmanship is the same, but they differ in size and in additional features.
You have as many as 3 to 6 main burners to choose from so I am sure that you will find the perfect size for yourself.
This review is about the four burner version (Bull Outdoor Angus). In my view that is the size that will suit majority of people.
I know that the price is pretty high but keep in mind that quality and efficiency aren’t cheap. It’s a decision for years to come so it’s better not to cut corners on such things when building your dream outdoor kitchen.
2. Runner Up - Lion Premium Grills L75623 32"
Another four burner built in gas grill available at a slightly lower price.
Lion Premium Built In Grill 32” was made of high quality stainless steel (304 grade). It’s a big, efficient and durable grill that also looks good to boot.
It comes with 830 square inches of the main cooking area.
With its four strong burners, it provides comfort of cooking large quantities of food with the ability to create different heat zones.
Inside you will also find several useful features such as an infrared rotisserie burner or the lighting for the entire grill chamber.
I really like the high-quality, solid grates made of steel.
The price is still pretty high, but I think that this configuration will appeal to plenty of people.
Large cooking area, four strong burners, useful features and high quality of workmanship. These are the key aspect that can be found in this grill.
I also have to commend the style, it may be fairly simple but it’s also universal, which makes it fit most of backyard designs.
3. Best Budget - Napoleon Grills Built-in Prestige 500
The last suggestion for those with the most limited budget.
Napoleon Grills Built-In Prestige 500 is still a well-built and efficient grill that is worth your money.
You can see a slightly lower attention to detail, like the plastic finishings of the lid or the slightly less solid handle. That’s the result of a much lower price than in case of much better finished grills.
You need to know that this applies to the least significant elements. The rest of the construction (body, lid, burners) was made of much better materials and with better attention to detail.
It has 760 square inches of the main cooking area, that’s still a lot at this price.
On top of that, you get as many as 4 main burners plus one back burner intended for a rotisserie.
It’s a well-made and durable built in grill that won’t disappoint in terms of efficiency.
I need to emphasize, though, that plenty of minor elements were made of aluminum or plastic for example. It isn’t such bad news, both materials are resistant to corrosion which combined with the rest of elements made of high-quality stainless steel provides decent durability.
In terms of visuals, on the other hand, the elements of this type stick out quite a lot but it shouldn’t be surprising considering the price.
What to Look for in a built in grill
Budget – You should define your budget right at the start so that you don’t ruin your home budget. It will be easier and faster for you to find the right built in grill for your outdoor kitchen.
Number of burners and size – You cook a lot? Analyze your needs and pick the right grill size and number of burners. If you often throw parties or simply have a big family then a good solution will be buying a bigger grill. Otherwise, there is no point buying a grill the potential of which you can’t use.
Features – You want the most basic grill version or maybe you’d like many interesting gadgets. I’m talking about a rotisserie burner, sear burner or other solutions that improve the convenience such as lighting etc. Most of these features are good to have but remember that they increase the final price quite a lot.
Durability and Warranty – When investing so much money, everyone would like their grill to last forever. Sadly, not all manufacturers make great grills, which can’t be seen at first glance. On top of that, there might be mistakes during manufacturing that will also make themselves known only further down the road. To protect your investment against this kind of situations, among others, it is important to check out whether the manufacturer offers a good warranty, so review carefully what it covers.
Style – That’s the last aspect to pay attention to. Just make sure that the built in grill you’re interested in suits the style of your kitchen. Technically speaking, it is the least significant thing when it comes to functioning of a grill but obviously looks do matter as well.
